MOST BELOVED DAYS DHUL HIJJAH Allah created man & jinn to worship Allah along purpose of creation Average life age between 60yrs & 70 yrs we don t live forever in life Life is divided into so many parts eating, sleeping, working, childhood, time of ignorance so when do we really spend time to worship Allah? A Muslim is supposed to worship Allah that is the purpose of his creation but if we count then how many minutes in a day do we actually spend worshipping Allah! Imagine how much time you spend in praying the 5 obligatory prayers maybe 25-30 minutes total! Out of all the 24 hrs! So realistically, HOW are you supposed to spend your entire life in worship? o Allah has made it easy for us by giving us certain bonus periods in life in order to motivate us & excite us to worship Him with renewed feelings We need change motivation something to boost us! We know we need to worship Allah all the time but we cannot get bored of the worship! We need change all the time! Look at the cycle we follow the normal life routine before Ramadan we become so excited and wait for Ramadan faith is high- middle of Ramadan we become relaxed in routine then another injection of motivation for Laylatul Qadr the night of Decree so our faith goes up again then we relax for Eid & enjoy then we go in to the fasting of Shawwal then we relax the month of Dhul Qadah and the comes Dhul Hijjah the 10 days followed by Eid-ul-Adha. So there is no stagnant period there is always change in order to motivate us. Even during the day the prayers are not all at one time and not fixed amount! Different cycles 2, 3, 4. There are different times for the prayers, early morning before sunrise, then mid morning, then at the start of evening, then at night There always some difference. o DAILY differences Prayer times and cycles we don t pray all at once in one hour of the day its segregated. In the morning, the city is quiet so prayer feeling is different in the afternoon there is hustle bustle, during work, so the prayer feeling and concentration is different need to struggle more to concentrate o WEEKLY difference Friday is a blessed day of the month its virtue is more than any other day of the week need special Friday prayer sermon read Surah Kahaf send more blessings on Prophet Muhammad pace & blessings be on him so different kinds of worship involved

o YEARLY difference different months with different virtues (even following the lunar calendar is excitement it s not fixed so people wait on the last day when is Eid? Is it tomorrow? Search for the crescent!) WELCOMING DHUL HIJJAH NEXT WEEK! Important days start on the 1 st of this month End of the first ten days 10 th of Dhul Hijjah that s the day of Eid Cannot compare the last 10 nights of Ramadan because this is about the NIGHTS! These are the BEST NIGHTS in the year The first 10 days of Dhil Hijjah are the BEST DAYS of the year Surah Fajr #1 o Allah swore by the first 10 days o See the tafsir of this surah even though the surah says 10 nights Surah Hajj #28 o The first 10 days are the important, known days HADITH Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah ( ) said, "There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He ( ) replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it." [Al- Bukhari]. Anything that you do during these days it will be beloved to Allah If you always pray the morning prayer pray the same during these days Allah will love it more More virtues than jihad for the sake of Allah (struggle)

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THESE DAYS? Best days in all the year o The good deeds you do during this time are more beloved to Allah encouragement for you! o These deeds have greater reward with Allah extra rewards for all your deeds all the things that you do even in normal routine (in those days). All the voluntary prayers, dua, dhikr, anything that you do! More reward because there is more struggle In Ramadan it s easier to do more good deeds because the Shaitaan are chained its more easy to do good deeds night prayers in the mosque everyone is doing so the motivation is from outside Allah prepares the whole universe for Ramadan so the means are easier In Dhul Hijjah it s more difficult so the motivation needs to come from inside! VIRTUES OF SOME SPECIFIC DAYS DURING THE FIRST 10 DAYS 8 th of Dhul Hijjah o Start of the Hajj o Pillar of Faith ي و م ال عرف ة 9th of Dhul Hijjah o If a person goes for Hajj and does not go to Arafah then his Hajj is incomplete! Allah will expiate all their sins whole life Allah will free some people out of Hell Fire Allah will mention some people in front of the angels o If you are not going for Hajj you can fast on this day the day before Eid Sins of your past year & future year will be forgiven Night of the 10th of Dhul Hijjah (before Eid) ي و م ال نحر 10th of Dhul Hijjah o The day of Eid is the day of sacrifice o This is for everyone! People gone for Hajj AND ALSO people not gone for Hajj o Allah does NOT BENEFIT from the meat of the sacrifice! o The sacrifice only benefits the people! o You get reward for your sacrifice obedience to Allah o You also get to eat the meat and share with your family, friends and other needy people (nutrition, taste, blessing from Allah in the world)

DAYS ALL TYPES OF WORSHIP IN THESE 10 These 10 days are the mother of all the worship because there is no specific kind of worship mentioned. Therefore, since Allah loves, accepts & rewards any deeds in these days one can do any of the following types of worship with sincerity and hope for the reward from Allah Prayer Fast Dua Hajj Umrah Remembrance of Allah WHAT SHOULD ONE DO DURING THESE DAYS? Remembrance of Allah More prayer Make more dua Read more Quran Acquire knowledge Increase in the voluntary (prayers) Increase in giving charity can give your Zakah Fasting o Fast on the Day of Arafah o Also can fast from 1-9 of Dhul Hijjah o NO FAST ON EID DAY! We ask Allah the Almighty to guide us to His Love and Pleasure
